James Elmer Griggs 69, of Jonesboro died Wednesday May 17, 2006 at Skill Care Nursing Center.
He was born in Viola, Arkansas and had lived in Jonesboro since 1991, coming from Lake City, Arkansas. He was a retired Assembler from Monroe, and was of the Assembly of God belief.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Andrew and Dixie Isom Griggs, and 1 sister, and 2 brothers.

Irene Bales of Bakersfield, Missouri
5 Grandchildren: Misty Griggs, Greg Griggs, Whitney Griggs, Drew Griggs, Jacy Griggs.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday May 20, 2006 at the Emerson Memorial chapel with the Rev. Jerry Wilcox officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Active Pallbearers will be Fred Farmer, Arlis Banks, Rick Dillinger, Bill Morris, Greg Griggs and Jason Bradley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Bales, Eric Bales, Tracy Farmer and Doran Dillinger.
