James Eugene Lantz

March 31, 1947 — July 9, 2012

James Eugene “Jim” (Glenn) Lantz was born March 31, 1947 to Brooks Vaughn Glenn and Margie Lantz of Lynn, Arkansas. His life was made complete on this earth on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the age of 65 and is now perfectly complete and healed in Jesus Christ.

He was blessed with a large circle of love in a big family who celebrates life as the awesome gift that it is. Jim had a big sense of humor and assuring bright blue eyes. He was a devoted husband, fun dad and supportive papaw, a trusted father-in-law, special son, and very loved brother, nephew, grandson and friend. He loved hunting, fishing, playing cards with the boys, motorcycle and four-wheel riding, dirt track racing, building, music, truck driving, church and family. He responded in love to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and believed in the friendship, comfort and love of God above all. His positive attitude in the face to many exhausting health trials changed many lives. He believed God “took his mess and made it his message,” and that he did. He will be incredibly missed.

Jim is preceded in death by his grandmother, Marie Maney of Powhatan; brothers Jason Bennett and Larry Glenn. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Alla Mae Lantz of the home, daughters Trish Chandler and son-in-law Jeff; Sophie Holland and son-in-law Shannon; Becky Burns and son-in-law Danny; all of Jonesboro. Sons, James David Lantz; Samuel Lantz and daughter-in-law Shannon of Jonesboro; Phillip Lantz of Chicago, Ill. The sparkle in his eye was 11 grandchildren; Joshua Lantz, Adam Lantz, Josie Chandler, Legend Chandler, Blake Self, Clay Holland, Jackson Holland, Tyler Burns, Rhett Burns, Suzannah Lantz and Presley Lantz.

He is also survived by sisters Ruthann Nunnally-McGlothin of Bono; Margaret Smith (Van) of Cape Girardeau, MO.; Lanell King (Tommy) of Lynn; Nona Dunlap (Terry) of Mississippi. Jim is also survived by brothers, Rick Lantz, Danny Hugg of Strawberry; Wayne Hugg of Jonesboro and Kenny Bennett of Searcy. Many other wonderful step-brothers and sister, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jeff Chandler officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
