James W. “Dick” Davis, 87, of Bay, died Monday evening at Trumann Health and Rehab Center where he had lived for two months.
Born in Qulin, Missouri, Dick lived in Jonesboro before moving to Bay several years ago. He operated Dick’s Barber Shop in Bay for several years and farmed too. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II and was preceded in death by his parents: John and Pearl Horton Davis; by 1 sister: Myrtle Kimberland; and by 2 brothers: Willis “Cotton” Davis and William “Bill” Davis.
Survivors include: His wife: Elouise Davis of the home;
3 Sons and their wives: James W. Davis, Jr. of Montana, and Donnie and Sandy Davis, and Ronnie and Carol Davis, all of Bay;
1 Brother: Charlie Davis of Jonesboro; and
5 Grandchildren: James Davis, III, Jamie Davis, Clint Davis, Brooke Davis Thomas, and Chase Davis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Patrick Kimberland officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Ricky Hutchinson, Kenny Vestal, Donnie Scott, Elbert Bradford, Buddy Watts, and Jackie Knight.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
