David McQuay, 57, of Jonesboro, died Thursday at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
David was born in Jonesboro and lived much of his life here. He was a truck driver before becoming disabled and was a member of Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
David enjoyed fishing, yard sales and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, James Curtis McQuay.
Survivors include his former wife and the mother of his children, Georgia Sandborn of Jonesboro;
4 daughters and their husbands: Theresa Folsom (Jon), Jennifer Crain (Gary), and Nikki Coots (Mark), all of Jonesboro, and Elizabeth McQuay of Cave City;
His mother, Daphyne McQuay Parson of Jonesboro;
3 brothers: Max Parson (Carolyn), Mike McQuay (Cindy), and Steven McQuay; and 2 sisters: Penny Kirksey (Randy “Chili Dog”) and Paul Kirksey (B.J.), all of Jonesboro; and
7 grandchildren: Garrett, Kaylee, Jon Weston, Kylie, Caroline, Eli James and Evan.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Gary Broadaway officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Zak Kirksey, Michael McQuay, B.J. Schlueter, Jon Folsom, Gary Crain and Mark Coots. Nephews will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Monday from 12 noon until service time in Emerson Chapel.
