James "Dan" Daniel Watson Sr.

James Daniel “Dan” Watson Sr. passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Ridgecrest Health and Rehab. He was born August 16, 1946 in Brookland to the late Charles and Gladys Williamson Henley. Dan was a Nettleton School graduate. He served in the United States Navy.  Dan retired from the Craighead County Highway Department. He was a member of Cash River United Pentecostal Church in Sedgwick. Dan enjoyed fishing, mowing, walking, reading his bible and preaching to whoever would listen.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his adopted parents after his mother died at 26 months old, Leonard and Hazel Watson; wife, Shirley Watson and brother, Jackie Wayne Williamson.

Survivors include his 2 sons, James D. Watson Jr., Stacy Glen Watson both of Jonesboro; 2 sisters, Margaret “Midgie” Guest of Michigan, Wanda Williamson (David) Koch-Perrine of Pinckney, Michigan; 3 grandchildren: Ricky D. (Raven) Watson, Amanda M. Watson, Courtney R.L. Watson all of Jonesboro and 2 great grandchildren, Harmony Clark and Nevaeh Clark both of Jonesboro.
