James D. "Jim" Lackey

November 6, 1943 — March 6, 2014

James David "Jim" Lackey, 70, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Jim was a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro and a 1962 graduate of Jonesboro High School. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker all of his adult life and operated Vintage House Kitchens in Jonesboro for several years.

Jim was a member of Shepherd's Heart Church and the NEA Antique Car Club. He enjoyed playing the piano and singing gospel music and was a member of a couple of gospel quartets.

Survivors include his wife, Mary King Lackey of the home;

1 daughter, Angela Lackey of Jonesboro;

1 brother and sister-in-law: Brooks and Retha Lackey of Jonesboro;

2 half brothers, Jerry Lackey and Benny Lackey, and 2 half sisters, Linda Smith and Patricia Yandell, all of Memphis.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Strait officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00-11:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
