James Christian Wilmoth

May 12, 1969 — February 15, 2012

James Christian (Chris) Wilmoth, 42, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday at St. Bernards Medical Center of natural causes.

Born in Jonesboro, Chris lived 10 years in Nashville where he worked as a drummer in the music profession before returning to Jonesboro last year. He worked for several singers and bands including Georgie Baker and Chase Buchanan.

Chris was a member of First Assembly of God in Jonesboro and was a long-time member of the Jonesboro Jaycees. He was involved for many years with the NEA District Fair as a lighting and sound technician. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents Weldon Jenkins, Melvin and Hazel Jenkins Land, and by R.W., Sr. and Lona Wilmoth.

Survivors include 2 sons: Dylan Wilmoth of Bay and Keech Wilmoth of Caraway;

His parents: Jim and Dot Wilmoth of Jonesboro;

1 sister, Beverlee Wilmoth of Jonesboro, and 1 niece, India Garner of Paragould.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 with Rev. Tom Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers include Lance McDaniel, Brad Owen, Mark Owen, Mike Dickerson, Steve Hamm, Dave Snell, Shane Mullins and Mike Fivecoat. Honorary pallbearers include Chris Jester, Dr. Jay Lee and Brian Monehan.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 noon until service time at First Assembly of God, 1404 Stone Street, Jonesboro.
