James Carter "J.C." Files

James Carter Files (J.C.), 78, of rural Jonesboro, was born October 1, 1931, in Manila, and departed this life on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at his home of natural causes.
Mr. Files was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Files of the home;

2 sons: Jim (Jan) Files, and Tony (Joyce) Files, all of Jonesboro;
1 daughter, Lori Files of Jonesboro;

1 sister: Alta Gregory of Manila;

1 step sister: Anna Lou Gardner of Michigan;

8 grandchildren: Scott (Cheryl) Files, Bryan (Amie) Files, Clint Massey, Zachary Massey, Brittany Files and Brent Files, all of Jonesboro, Nathan Massey of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Amy (Mark) Campbell of Paragould;

6 great grandchildren: Cody, Kelsey, Yasmin, Paige, Hannah, and Keagan; and

2 nephews: Mike Dozier of Jonesboro and Darryl Dozier of Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Tommy Herndon and Roger Tidwell officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandson. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters and great granddaughters.

Visitation will be held Monday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
