James "Bud" Stahl

June 9, 1933 — June 25, 2012

James “Bud” Clifton Stahl, 79, of Harrisburg died Monday, June 25 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He spent most of his life in the Harrisburg and Trumann areas. Bud was an evangelist, and Pastor. He founded the Calvary Baptist Church in Trumann. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Era.

Bud accomplished many jobs. He was the owner/operator of Sunshine Window Cleaning Professionals. He owned and was manager of gas stations, worked in detail shops and was in the Jaycees. Bud had the 1st privately owned school bus that he operated. He was a farmer and enjoyed working in the garden. Bud was an avid St.Louis Cardinal’s fan. As a young man he was scouted to become a player for St. Louis. His hobby was loving his family and preaching. He was a man who loved God, family and country.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Nellie Metcalf Stahl. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Wanda Stahl, of the home; 2 sons, Miles (Lynne) Stahl of Jonesboro; George Edward (Marjorie) Stahl of Harrisburg. Daughter, Jamel (Rick) Gohlke of Brookland; brother, Roger (Brenda) Stevens of Henderson; sister, Helen Chaffin of Trumann. 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 29 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Austin Missey officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Billy Baker, Bryan Sellers, Shawn Blanchard, Vernon Blasingame, Floyd Hancock, Antonio Requejo. Honorary pallbearers include Pete Clark, Dale Pulley, Grady Rouse, Ronnie Baxter, Bob McPherson and Eddie Powers.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 28 from 6-8 PM at the Emerson Memorial Chapel.
