James Bruce Gilmer Sr., 49 of Jonesboro died Monday, April 3, 2006 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He had lived his lifetime in Jonesboro and was of the Baptist Belief. As a long standing member of the Free Spirit Riders, James “Gilley” Gilmer will be missed by all of his brothers and fellow riders.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Alvin Gilmer, one son, James Bruce Gilmer, Jr., and his great grandmother X. L. Fleetwood.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Leroy Franks officiating and burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Will Pollard, Barry Jones, Ronnie “Preacher” Montgomery, James “Bos” Burris, Ronnie Tucker, Tim “Tiny” Huffine. Honorary pallbearers are William Gann, Nick Gann, Richard Clay, James Danels, JD Guthrie, and Chester Markum.
