James Clayton Brooks Iii

James Clayton Brooks III, 71, of Newport passed away October 23, 2019 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. He was born December 7, 1947 in Black Oak to the late James Clayton Brooks II and Violet Nadine (Needham) Brooks. James was raised in Lake City and graduated from Nettleton High School. He served in the Air Force where he met his wife Bernadette Brooks. They were married 14 years, drifted apart and years later were blessed to find each other again. They fell in love all over again and remarried.

James loved traveling with his wife and spending quality time with his family. Nothing brought him more joy than being with those he loved. He was a very giving and loving husband, father, Papa and friend. James was a member of the Lone Wolf Family a motorcycle club out of Harrisburg. He was a NASCAR fanatic and a great poker player.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Bernadette Brooks of the home; daughter, Jamie Annette (Randy Frost) Brooks; son, James (Traci) Clayton Brooks IV both of Jonesboro; brother, Roger (Ethal Mae) Brooks of Wilson; sister, Donna (Bill) Nelson of Bella Vista; 5 grandchildren, Tyler (Maggie Tittle) Langley, Taylor Emerick, Matilyn Emerick, Dakota Dunkerson, Skylar Smith; 2 great grandchildren, Kash and Daxton Langley all of Jonesboro and 3 nephews and 1 niece.

Memorial service will be November 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Lone Wolf Family Clubhouse, 1500 Industrial Drive, Harrisburg, AR 72432 with David Smith officiating.

James will be escorted to the memorial by his Lone Wolf family for his final ride.
