James Alvin Ballard, 66, of Jonesboro passed away on January 10, 2015 at his residence. He was born on January 25, 1948 in Jonesboro. James is a graduate of Nettleton High School class of 1966 and was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter who found great joy in the woods. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents: Clermont W. and Pearl E. (Watson) Ballard from Jonesboro; brother, Carl Ballard of Clay, Louisiana.
Alvin is survived by his wife Jackie of the home; daughter, Angela Patterson (Bobby) of Mayflower, Arkansas; sons, Chris Ballard, Cody Ballard, and Tanner Ballard all of Jonesboro; step-daughters, Christy Barber (Toby) of Texas and Stephanie Porter (Rick) of Jonesboro; sisters, Louise Radcliff and Geneva Phillips are both from Jonesboro. Alvin also leaves behind six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Stan Ballard officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with active pallbearers being Cody Ballard, Tanner Ballard, Chris Ballard, Chad Spears, Toby Barber, and Caleb Barber.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
