James William (Butch) Bales, 67 of Jonesboro, passed away from this life Sunday night at his residence. He was born September 30, 1948 to James William Thomas Bales and Ruby Grace Beard of Strawberry Plains Tennessee.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Linda Kay Blanchard Bales. Butch and Linda owned and worked a Dairy farm in Lawrence County until they moved to Greene County in 1978. He was self-employed as an owner operator truck driver and enjoyed raising quarter horses.
Butch enjoyed watching westerns and many sports on TV. Some of his favorites were: Woman’s Fast Pitch Softball, Little League World Series, and “QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER”.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Bales (Christi) of Jonesboro; one daughter, Kristie Huffman (Joey) of Jonesboro; one brother, Daniel Lee Bales (Nicki) of Jefferson City, TN; one sister, Barbara Anne Mitchell (Jack), Strawberry Plains, TN; six grandchildren, Breann, Janell, Josh, Brandon, Brent and Ethan; two great grandchild; Lakin Chey, and Juliann, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Higher Trails Cowboy Church on Hwy 358 in Paragould at 4:00 P.M. Burial will be private at a later date with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
