James E. Baggett, 88, of Jonesboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1961. James was born on February 25, 1936, in Harrisburg, Arkansas to Cecil B. and Lorraine Baggett. After working for Wonder Bread for 35 years, he finally retired. He was a member and deacon of Fairview Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Army National Guard unit #875. He always had a love for cattle farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Flossie Baggett, of the home; sons, Keith Baggett and his wife Connie of Jonesboro; Kelly Baggett and his wife Julie of Brookland; daughter, Kara Gould and husband Sean of Brookland; sister, Patsy Emmons and husband Johnny of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Patrick Baggett (Marianna), Nicole Vaughn (Luke), Deanna Rice (Austin), Nathan Baggett (Emily), Kyle Gould (Mika); and six great grandchildren, PJ, Ellie, Avery, Riley, Carter, and Marshall; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 18. 2025, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Gary Henderson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday night at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
