Jaime Valencia, 58, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on August 29, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was born on September 22, 1967, in Harlingen, Texas, to Natividad and Beatriz (Lopez) Valencia. Jaime was born and raised in Harlingen and later made Paragould his home in 2004.

Jaime married his high school sweetheart, Josephine (Barajas) Valencia, and together they shared 38 years of marriage. Josephine was truly the love of Jaime’s life. Their love and devotion to one another were evident throughout their life together, and she never left his side during his illness.

A hardworking man by nature, Jaime earned his electrical journeyman license and worked as a journeyman electrician until his health no longer allowed him to continue. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and determination.

Jaime was truly one of a kind. He never met a stranger and had an incredible sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and could bring joy and laughter into any room. He will be remembered for his compassionate heart, optimistic outlook, generosity, and the way he made people feel welcome and loved.

Family was at the center of Jaime’s life. He especially treasured time spent with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, making memories that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed dove hunting. Jaime also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Bucky, as well as his grand dogs, (or as he called them 'The Wise Guys'), Odin, Dash, and Daisy.

Jaime was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Jonesboro. His faith, family, humor, compassion, and unwavering love will forever remain a part of the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Jaime is survived by his beloved wife, Josephine Valencia; daughters, Jamie Jones (Marcus) and Samantha Valencia (Kyle Biggers); sons, Joseph Valencia (Gracen Van Don) and Justin Valencia; grandchildren, Braylen Jones (Kandice), Annastyn Jones,  Evelynn Jones, Addilyn Owens, Kylann Biggers, Keeley Van Don, Baya Valencia, Wesson Valencia, and Sophia Valencia; and great-granddaughter, Vyola Jones.

He is also survived by his parents, Natividad and Beatriz Valencia; siblings, Nelda Valencia, Edward Valencia (Sharon), Cynthia Wilson (Brian), and Elizabeth Huff (Erik); and a host of nieces, nephews, sister and brother in-laws, a wonderful mother in-law, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nemecio and Maria De Jesus Lopez, paternal grandparents, Jose and Leonor Valencia, and beloved father-in-law, Reynaldo Barajas.

A Rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, followed by visitation from 5:00–7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, officiated by Monsignor Scott Friend. Burial will follow at Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Valencia, Justin Valencia, Edward Valencia, Marcus Jones, Braylen Jones, and Kyle Biggers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jorge Barajas, John Paul Barajas, Erik Huff, Brian Wilson, Jimmie Duran, and a host of loving nephews and close friends.

Jaime leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, compassion, and love. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely will live on through his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
