Jackie Annette Whitenton Cox, 58, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at her residence in Cardwell, Missouri.
Annette was born September 15, 1965 to Walter Eugene Whitenton and Jackie Darlene Lane. She was a member of the 1984 class of Brookland High School. She later attended South Central Career College in Jonesboro. Annette was a talented cook who employed her skills in the kitchens of many restaurants and assisted living facilities. Earlier in life, she was a member of Bay United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant granddaughter; maternal grandparents, George and Beatrice Lane of Brookland; and paternal grandparents, Walter and Jewell Whitenton of Nettleton.
Survivors include three children: Nicole Jefferson of Jonesboro, Cassie Morrison of Harrisburg, and Zach Morrison of Lake City; two sisters, Judy McQuay of Jonesboro, and Rhonda Lane of Brookland; five grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per her wishes, Annette will be cremated and memorial services will be private and held at a later date. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
