Jack H. Kimbrough, 94, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026. He joins in heaven his parents, Helen and Glenn Kimbrough, and daughter, Dana Porter. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie, and children Tina Harlin (Daniel), Graham Kimbrough (Robin), Genevieve Fulks (Blake), and Ryan Kimbrough.
Jack was born in Topeka, Kansas, on September 7, 1931. He graduated from Washburn University and served as Captain in the US Air Force during the Korean War, before eventually settling in Osceola, Arkansas, where he prospered.
Jack’s early life experiences instilled in him a strong sense of order, discipline, and responsibility. His protective nature often masked a softer, lighthearted side, and he had a particular tenderness for animals. His final act of benevolence introduced Lucy to the family, a profoundly shy lab mix whose new and happy life is a testament to his steadfast belief in the underdog. Jack’s legacy of kindness lives on through her, and through the people who had the privilege of knowing him across nearly 95 years.
Jack’s loved ones will miss the pleasure of experiencing his appreciation for any small gesture, be it a novel snack, the expression of a fond memory, or a drive around town. The most important thing to Jack was home, and it will never feel the same without him.
All funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
