Jack Gockel, 65, of Jonesboro passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

Jack was born on July 6, 1950 in Cape Girardeau, MO to the late Joe and Aredah Harvell Gockel. He lived most of his life in the Cape Girardeau area before moving to Jonesboro 18 years ago. He worked as a Buyer for E.C. Bartons until his retirement. His hobbies included working and building computers, ham radios, riding his motorcycle, collecting and playing guitars, and traveling on cruises with his wife. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Gockel Whitson.

He is survived by wife, Patricia Gockel of Jonesboro; two daughters, Sara Moncayo (Eddie) of Nashville, TN and Kristy Strop (Bob) of Jackson, MO; two step sons, Michael Holladay of Jonesboro and Christopher Orozco of Hugo, OK; one brother, Joseph Gockel (Susan) of Scott City, MO; one sister, Sondra Gockel Hoover (Baxter) of Cape Girardeau, MO; fifteen grandchildren; mother in law, Maxie Rogers of Jonesboro; brother in law, Bill Dillard; sister in law, Margie Cheramie (Curtis)of Bennington, OK; special friends, Mike and Regina Hudgins of Jonesboro; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Thursday evening at 6pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Mike Hudgins officiating. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
