Irving “Lavaughn” Rusher, 59, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He had lived in Jonesboro or Bay all his life. He loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his father, Irvy Rusher and his step-father, Garvin Whitaker.
He is survived by his wife, Carlean Rusher of the home; his sons and daughters-in law, Tony & Karen Rusher, Trumann, Mark & Misty Rusher, Jonesboro, Brian & Janet Rusher, Jonesboro; his daughters and son-in-law, Nancy & Chad Robbins, Lake City and Brenda Rusher, Jonesboro. Mr. Rusher is also survived his mother, Ellen Whitaker, Bay, and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rondal Rusher, Waterford, MI, Bobby & Glenda Rusher, Herget, Freddie & Bonnie Rusher, Jonesboro, sisters and brother-in-law, Sharon Whitaker, Tyronza, Shirley & Herman Long, Jonesboro, Gayle Simpson, Bay; and his grandchildren, Cody Rusher, Lauren Robbins, Felecia Rusher, Anthony Rusher, Jeremy Rusher, Randy Robbins, and Dalton Gallion.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at Emerson Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Larry Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Bolivar Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Hathcoat, Mark Hathcoat, T.J. Ballentine, Joe Borden, Heath Stevens, and Kenny Goza.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Green, Jr. Roberts, and Mr. Rusher’s nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
