Irene S. Alexander

Irene S. Alexander, 98, of Jonesboro, died November 24, 2007 at her home. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri and had lived in Jonesboro for the past twenty-one years moving here from Liberal, Kansas. She attended First Baptist Church in Jonesboro and worked in the Baptist Care Center for seven years. She also attended Nettleton Baptist Church where she was very active in her Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Walter Alexander, two brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Shirley, Jonesboro; step-daughters Ade Bell Stauffer, Bilga Texas; and Bonnie Murphy, St. Joseph, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2007 from 4 – 6 P.M., at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements. A funeral service will be Thursday, November 28, 2007 at Stanley Dickey Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri with Brother Scott Voss officiating and burial will be private.
