Ira G. "Pop" Lambert

March 23, 1943 — December 2, 2008

Ira G. “Pop” Lambert, 65, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis after a long illness.

He was born March 23, 1943, in Brazil, Indiana, and was retired from General Motors Acceptance Corporation in Blytheville and Jonesboro and was employed by Auto Credit Corporation of Walnut Ridge and Jonesboro.

He leaves behind his wife of forty-six years, Glenna Fowler Lambert of the home;
two daughters and son-in laws, Gina and Carl Wilson, and Lisa and Timothy Oppenheim; all of Jonesboro, and one son, Brock Christopher Lambert of Nashville, Tennessee. He also leaves his mother, Opal Lambert Adkisson of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Lambert Jr., and one brother, Wayne Lambert of Blytheville.

He also leaves four grandchildren: Lauren Elizabeth Wilson, Andrew Christian Wilson, Sarah Beth Oppenheim and Anna Elise Oppenheim, all of Jonesboro.

He will be fondly missed for his love of children, animals and sports. The family requests memorials made to Paws, N.E. Ark Humane Society or First United Methodist Church (Youth) where he was a member.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 5, 2008, at First United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M., with Rev. John Miles officiating. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.

Active pallbearers will be Bill Gray, Don Cavenaugh, Ronnie Atkisson, Keith Carter, Bill Kenner and Barry Ball.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Thursday December 4, 2008 at 3901 Towering Oaks Drive (Rossland Hill subdivision).
