Ione Rees

Ione Rees, 93, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, June 27, 2015. She was born on December 9, 1921 in Franklin County, Alabama to the late John Ray and Alice Cartee. Ione has lived in Jonesboro since 1957 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved to socialize and was an avid golfer. Ione was an Interior Decorator and owned and operated Continental Interiors for many years. Ione is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Raymond Rees Sr.; son, Billy Raymond Rees Jr.; daughter, DeeDee Rees; and one brother and two sisters.

Ione is survived by her two sons, Ken Payne (Julie) of Roanoke, Virginia and John Payne (Scottie) of Jonesboro; and one sister, Joann Lewis of Birmingham, Alabama.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
