Ina M. Watkins Dent

Ina M. Watkins Dent, 74, of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday, February 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Place. She was born to the late S.W. “Short” and Alberta Watkins on June 7, 1943 in Bay, Arkansas.

Ina has resided in the Jonesboro area since 1985 after spending the previous 20 years traveling around the country while her husband Charles served his career in the in United States Army.

Ina was baptized into the Baptist faith during her early childhood. She was an excellent seamstress and was very passionate about everything that she pursued during her life. Ina never failed to make friend anywhere she went while traveling and being an Army wife. Later in life Ina was blessed to be a recipient of a double lung transplant that vastly improved her way of life. Ina was referred to as Aunt Sis to five nephews who loved and enjoyed her personality and humor.

In addition to her parents, Ina is preceded in death by her two brothers: David Watkins and Hershel Watkins.

Ina is survived by her husband, Charles Dent, happily married for fifty four years; son: Bryan (Melissa) Dent of South Hill, Virginia; daughter: Penne Black of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters: Trisha Parsons and Faye (E.J.) Cunningham both of Jonesboro; five grandchildren: Caitie Black, Caela Dent, Bailee Dent, Kaisley Jackson, and Kyndall Jackson.
