Ila Fay Saffell, 91, of Jonesboro passed from this life Thursday, November 1, 2018 at her home. She was born November 24, 1926 in Saffell, AR to the late Abe Sr. and Mary Latting.
Ila has lived in the Jonesboro area most of her life and was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, flowers, canning, and was known for her baking, especially her famous fried pies. She also loved being with her family.
In addition to her parents, Ila was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Saffell and her twin sister, Ola Sharp.
Survivors include her sons, Winred (Regina) Saffell of Lake City and Reg (Timi) Saffell of Bono; brothers, TJ Latting of Saffell, AR and Abe Latting Jr. of Molene, IL; sisters, Mable Linebaugh of Jonesboro, Marie Sharp of Jonesboro and Treva Voyles of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Bridget (Tim) McNatt, Megan (Jimmy) Farley, Jacob (Jennifer) Saffell, Hunter (Chelsey) Saffell, Haven (Garrett) Wise, and Jordan (fiancé Jason Friar) Saffell; and great-grandchildren, Anna Saffell, Easton Farley and Judah Farley.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, 2018 in the Emerson Memorial Chapel from 5pm-7pm.
A funeral service will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 in the Emerson Memorial Chapel at 1 pm with Rev. Chuck Fitzgerald and Bro. Larry Thompson Officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jacob Saffell, Hunter Saffell, Garrett Wise, Tim McNatt, Jimmy Farley and Jason Friar.
