Ida Mae Dacus, 87 of Jonesboro passed from this life Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. Bernards Medical Center. Ida was born February, 2, 1935 to Dewey and Edna Holmes Smith of Jonesboro. She was a southern Baptist, a Sunday school teacher and she played the piano and organ at North Main Baptist. Ida was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, cooking and loved her family. Ida is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frank Smith.
Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, Bill Dacus of the home; sons, Chris (Kristin) Dacus of Jonesboro, Frankie (Mary) Dacus of Jonesboro; daughters, Freda (Steve) Brannen of Jonesboro, Melinda (Walt) Stafeil of Germantown, Tennessee; sister, Yulanda Bailey of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Ashley Dacus, Stephen Brannen, Brad Brannen, Andrea Dacus, Christine Meisenheimer, Lauren George, Megan Schnzel, Cooper Dacus, Madison Dacus, Laura Dacus, Lillie Barger, Jacqueline Doyle, Josiah Dacus, Elijah Dacus, Hattie Rose Dacus; and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Emerson Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 27 at Philadelphia Cemetery with Jarrid McGrew officiating.
Pallbearers will be Max Dacus Jr, Doug Gilmore, Chris Dacus, Frankie Dacus, Steve Brannen and Mike West.
