Hugh Allen Cornelison

Hugh Allen Cornelison, 76, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born January 7, 1949 in Paragould to Floyd and Jewel Cornelison.

Hugh has lived in the Jonesboro area all of his life and was a member of Cathedral Baptist Church where he was active in church services. He owned Outdoor Outfitters from 1983 to 2002, owned the Poinsett County Speedway from 2004-2009 and worked at Tractor Supply following his retirement. He enjoyed bass fishing and participated in tournaments. He was a known story teller to his grandkids and also had a great passion for racing.

Hugh is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Jewel Cornelison.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Edna Cornelison; sons, Rod (Shari) Cornelison and Tim (Sheri) Dawson as well as grandchildren, Tyler Dawson, Tanner Dawson, and Julian Price.

A visitation will be held Thursday August 21, 2025 from 9-10 am in the Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will follow the service at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Beaver officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pine Log Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Tim Stonecipher, Patrick Wheeley, Tyler Dawson, Tanner Dawson, Aaron Arnell and Raul Blasini. Honorary pallbearers include Barry Sharp and the Senior Saints Class of Cathedral Baptist.
