Hubert Wallace Williams

Hubert Wallace Williams, 67, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Trumann, Hubert grew up in Harrisburg and was a 1960 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Hubert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was associated with Xerox Corporation for 39 years as a Operational Technical Specialist.

Hubert was of the Baptist belief and involved in the reunion of the 551st AEW & C Wing of the Otis Air Force Base. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Letha Presley Williams, and by a brother, Lionel Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Betty Wood Williams, married January 6, 1964;

1 son, Kevin Williams of Jonesboro;

2 daughters and sons-in-law: Cindy and Kieth Boyd of Jonesboro, and Robin and Regan Parks of Trumann;

1 brother, James Williams of Hickory Ridge;

2 sisters: Sue French of Jonesboro and Vaneta Harvey of Hickory Ridge; and

6 grandchildren: Kasey Boyd, Keegan Boyd, Storm Parks, Gunner Parks, Justin Williams and Meagan Williams.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Robert Wirtmiller and Paul Horner officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park with military honors.

Active pallbearers include: Beau Henderson, Gary Allen, Stacy French, Keith Bise, Rick Meadows, and Bryan Meadows. Honorary pallbearers include Hubert’s coffee shop friends from Penny Pantry and the Mall at Turtle Creek.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
