Hubert G. Phipps

Hubert Phipps, 74, of Jonesboro, died Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Hubert was born May 16, 1937, in Lawrence County to Tom and Anna Belle Phipps. He served in the U.S. Army and worked in sales for 25 years. After retiring he enjoyed playing softball with the Trumann Senior Softball Team for several years. He was Assembly of God.

Mr. Phipps was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maxine Davis; and one brother, Tom Phipps, Jr.

Mr. Phipps is survived by his wife, Janette Phipps of the home; one son, Rex (Jenny) Phipps, and two granddaughters, Paige Phipps and Maggie Phipps, all of Ozark, Missouri; and two sisters, Virginia Neece of Walnut Ridge and Bonnie Caples of Jonesboro.

A visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
