Howard E. Cowgill, 74, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017, at the White County Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy.

Howard was born in Memphis and, because of his job, lived in several states before moving to the Jonesboro area 20 years ago. For several years he was a sales representative for RSC Rentals and the for the last nine years of his working career, Howard was a teacher at Annie Camp Junior High School.

Howard was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Howard and Hazel Armstrong Cowgill, and his grandparents: Harry Edward and Exiriffie Rose Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife, Loyce Hayes Cowgill of the home;
1 son, Hunter Kennedy of Jonesboro;
1 daughter, Miriam Whitlow Allred of Jonesboro;
his mother-in-law, Maxine "Nan" Troxler of the home;
3 grandchildren: Kendra Hickman, Eli Hickman and Kaley Hickman, all of Jonesboro;
1 aunt, several cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Emerson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jerry Parker and Randy Johnson officiating. A committal service will follow with Glen Putman officiating at the graveside.

For lasting memorials the family asks that consideration be given to the Mission Fund at Walnut Street Baptist Church, the Salvation Army or NEA Humane Society.
