Homer Harp

Homer Harp, 71, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House on November 4, 2018.  Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on May 25, 1947 to Kenneth Harp and Mary Pauline Croom.  He lived his entire life in Jonesboro.  He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1965.  He joined the Army National Guard in 1965.  He was employed by General Electric and was a farmer as well.  He had a love for Mustangs and enjoyed car shows.  He also enjoyed spending time playing with his beloved dog Max.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan Sharp Harp; two daughters, Kristie (Scott) Hambrick and Misty (Bobby) Johnson; one grandson, Hunter (McKaley) Johnson; his father, Kenneth (Didi) Harp; many cousins, nieces, nephews, sister in laws, and brother in laws; and many very close friends who are like family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pauline Croom Harp; father-in-law, Finnard Sharp; mother-in-law, Lacy Sharp; one brother, Gilbert Harp; sister-in-law, Margaret Harp; and a very special pet, Cola.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Arkansas from 1:00 to 2:00 and funeral services will begin at 2:00 and officiated by Jimmy Thompson, followed by burial at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be David Bailey, Bill Beeler, Manuel Clark, Larry Sharp, Tince Sharp, and Jerry West.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Harp, Junior Harp, Bill Henderson, Dr. Michael Isaacson, Gary Morris, Ronnie Morris, Larry Delaney, and Dale Randle (Speedy) Taylor.

For lasting memories, the family requests that donations be made to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House or the Fowler Cancer Center.
