Homer H. "Cotton" Cooper

Homer H. “Cotton” Cooper, 83, of Mountain Home, formerly of Jonesboro, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, in Mountain Home.

Born in Craighead County, Homer lived most of his life in the Nettleton-Jonesboro area where he owned and operated an agriculture limestone business and farmed. He moved to Mountain Home in 2000 following his retirement.

Homer enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was active in Senior Olympics. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was preceded in death by his wife Mary, 6 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include 1 daughter and her husband, Karen and Danny Benham of Mountain Home;

3 sons and their wives: Daniel and Barbara Cooper of Mountain Home, Terry and Lara Cooper of Cotter, and Tim and Tracey Cooper of Jonesboro;

11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Donald Cooper, Steve Cooper, Eugene Stalcup, Albert Roedel, Ernest Cooper and Bobby Higgins.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
