Hettie Mae Presley

Hettie Mae Presley, 71, of Jonesboro entered into rest on January 26, 2010. She was born March 3, 1938 at Trumann, Arkansas to Allie “Cap” and Robbie Mae Holt. She was the retired owner and operator of the J & H Restaurant in Elkhart, Indiana and of Presley’s Drive Inn in Jonesboro. She was a member of the Christian Valley Christian Church.

She loved cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Phyllis Ann Langston, a sister, Boyce Ann Evans, three brothers, Robert Holt, Ted Holt and Doyle Ray Holt.

Hettie is survived by a son, Terry (Kelly) Presley, Jonesboro; two daughters, Blendia (Neil) Parris, Cordova Tennessee; and Pamela (Jerry Don) Clark, Jonesboro; one sister, Georgia Jean (James) Allen, Elkhart, Indiana; three brothers, William C. “Dub” (Janice) Holt; James (Anita) Holt, all of Jonesboro; and Allie Wayne (Christine) Holt, Judsonia, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Shawn) Sones, Abbeville, Mississippi; Verl (Tracy) Sones, Brandon (Erin) Clines, both of Arlington, Tennessee; Dax Langston, Tanner Langston, both of Paragould; Tiffany (Jay) Cunningham, Jonesboro; Kyle (Amanda) Presley; Tucson, Arizona; Jarrett Clark, Jace Clark, both of Jonesboro; five great grandchildren, Roman Sones, Bartlett, Tennessee, Erika Sones, Abbeville; Kelsey Sones, Starkville, Mississippi; Conner Clines and Carson Clines, Arlington, Tennessee. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Mitch Ford and Reverend William C. Holt officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Wednesday night at the Emerson Memorial Chapel.
