Hershel Lee Walker

November 7, 1933 — October 19, 2005

Hershel Lee “Rip” Walker, age 71, of Bay, Arkansas, died Wednesday evening, October 19, 2005, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born in Myette, Arkansas, Mr. Walker was a 1951 graduate of Bay High School. He lived in Ponca City, Oklahoma before moving back to Bay in 1986. He was a Computer Systems Specialist and a Truck Owner/Operator.

Mr. Walker was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Bay and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. His hobbies included fishing, wood working, and Internet research. He was preceded in death by a son: Kenneth Allen; a brother: Earl Paul Walker; by his father: L.A. Walker; and by a grandson: Ryan Williamson.

Survivors include:
His Wife: Frances Williamson Walker of the home;

His Mother: Essie A. Walker of Bay;

6 Sons: Kenneth Lee Walker of Little Rock,
Timothy Eugene Walker of Rudy, Arkansas,
Brian Williamson of Neodesha, Kansas,
Jet Williamson of Tonkawa, Oklahoma,
Pete Williamson of Perry, Oklahoma, and
David Allen of Mounds, Oklahoma;

5 Daughters: Melissa Sue Walker of Dyer, Arkansas,
Melinda Lee Parrish of Keifer, Oklahoma,
Mary Jane Dyess of Perry, Oklahoma,
Carol Ann Boaz of Mounds, Oklahoma, and
Eva Marie Baidwan of Denver, Colorado;

24 Grandchildren, and
6 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, October 22, 2005, at 1:30 at New Life Baptist Church in Bay with Rev. Mark Rutherford officiating with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be in the Ponca Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma with Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry, Oklahoma in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
