Herman Lee Long

Herman Lee Long, 72, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at NEA Baptist Hospital.  He was a lifelong resident of Jonesboro.  He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  Fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors with his family and friends was his passion.  He never missed a chance to watch his favorite TV westerns.  He worked as a Master Plumber for McDaniel Brothers.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James Herman and Ethel Maybell Long; brothers, Jim Long and Bobby Long.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Shirley Long, of the home; son, Casey W. Long of the home; daughters, Crystal Ann Shands of Jonesboro, Kayla Long, Kirsey Long, and Callie Rulo, all of the home; sister, Betty Sue Wiseman of Brookland; five nieces and two nephews, Larry Long and D.J. Hill.

Graveside services will be 11:30 Friday, July 17, 2020 at Pine Log Cemetery with Mike Book officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers are Casey Long, Jessie Warren, Josh Jones, Barry Cornish, Amber Hice, and Tammy Ewing. Honorary pallbearers Derek Warren, Brian Cornish, Chad Brown, Buster Swanner and Jeffrey Swanner. Visitation will be from 10 until 11:00 at Emerson Funeral Home.
