Herbert LaBouve, 75, of Jonesboro died Wednesday April 4, 2012, at NEA Baptist Hospital.
Herbert was born August 23, 1936, in Hathaway, LA to the late Hurbert and Ida LaBouve, and he moved to Jonesboro in March of 1971. He was retired from General Electric and Nettleton Public Schools. He was a true Cajun, and was of the Catholic Faith. He loved to tinker around the house on projects, wood working, and cooking Cajun food. He was an avid sports fan, but his favorite team to watch was the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved his family and friends, and he had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 brother and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his wife Carole LaBouve of the home; a son, Herbie LaBouve of Texas; three daughters, Shelly LaBouve, Kelly(Phil) Holloway, and Shana LaBouve all of Jonesboro; one brother and four sisters; five grandchildren; Brandy, Phillisha, Lacie, Kalista, and Austin; and a great grandson, Tucker; one brother and four sisters, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday evening with Deacon David England officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. until service time, at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
