Henry A. Priest, 77, of Jonesboro, died Saturday morning at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rector and had lived in Jonesboro since 1965. He was a 1949 graduate of Marmaduke High School and was a retired salesman from Memphis Sash & Door. He loved preaching and woodworking. Mr. Priest a veteran of the United States Army, former Chief of Jonesboro Police Reserves, and was a member of the Stone Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife Harrilean Priest of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall Priest, Grand Junction, Colorado, Thomas & Kim Priest, Charles Priest, all of Jonesboro, Allen & Rebecca Priest, San Diego, California; daughter and son-in-law, Ann & Stan Bryant, Paragould; grandsons, Bobby Payne, Jason Payne, Luke Priest, Gabriel Priest, Stephen Priest; and great grandsons, Dalton Payne and Christopher Payne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. & Sarah Myrtle Rogers Priest; a daughter, Rhonda Moore; 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dwight Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Harris Townsley, Jerry Bishop, Sam Cossey, Phil Culleson, Jerry Gilbert, David Ledgerwood, and Stan Bryant.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
