Henry Dean “HD” Finch, 83, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born September 10, 1942 in Black Oak to the late Irish and Nina Finch. HD was a 1960 graduate of Monette High School. He served in the Arkansas Army National Guard. HD farmed most of his life and along with his son, owned and operated HD & J Finch Farms. In recent years, his grandsons, Ty Finch and Heath Hawkins joined the family farms as partners. HD and his family won Farm Family of the Year three times, and he also received the Farmer of the Year award from Jonesboro JC’s.

He was one of the five original owners of Black Oak Gin and served on the St. Francis Levee District Board. HD enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports. He was a big ASU supporter and enjoyed watching many of their games. Most of all, HD enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, HD was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Faye Finch, and a brother-in-law, Tommy Carner.

Survivors include his son, Jeff (April) Finch; a very special person, Sherri Coffman; brother, Robbie (Carolyn) Finch; sister, Nina Jean Carner; two grandchildren, Madison (Heath) Hawkins and Ty (Natalie) Finch; and four great-grandchildren, Slade Hawkins, Sawyer Hawkins, Saylor Hawkins and Hollis Finch.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Graveside service will be Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Monette Cemetery with Bro. Ken Armbrust and Bro. Robbie Finch officiating.
