Henry Clayton Clampit Jr.

June 20, 1949 — September 1, 2015

Henry Clayton Clampit Jr., 66, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 surrounded by family. He was born in Harrisburg on June 20, 1949 to the late Clayton and Ivy Clampit. Henry retired from World Color and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. He was an amateur photographer, loved to play guitar, and to travel with his family. Music was an integral part of Henry’s life, which he loved to share with his son, Matt. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Henry is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Brenda Clampit; son, Matt Clampit of Little Rock; brother, Paul Clampit (Michelle) of Conway, Arkansas; sister, Pauline Schutte (Ron) of Ballwin, Missouri. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to send a special thank you to John Burton, Dr. Julie Dow, Jill Simons, Tori Berry, Donna Carle, Fran Wagster, and Tracy Ashburn.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Sigman officiating. Burial will follow at Farm Hill Cemetery near Harrisburg with active pallbearers being Eugene Wing, Sam Turner, Chris Hart, Stuart Simons, Joe Ashburn, and Rick Bonds. The honorary pallbearers will be John Burton, Charles Dillehay, Art Tacker, The drivers at St. Bernards Total Life Health Care, and the New Spirit Sunday School Class at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

The visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home.
