Helen Geraldine Rogers Reddick peacefully passed away at Crossing the Riverside Health and Rehab in Searcy, Arkansas on June 1, 2016 at the age of 88. Geraldine was born in Hornersville, Missouri on January 28, 1928. She was raised and attended school in Marmaduke, Arkansas where she worked with her family on a farm. She lived in Marmaduke, Pine Bluff, and Jonesboro, Arkansas where her husband worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad. She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed sewing and cooking and was well known for her delicious chicken and dressing and chocolate pie. Her grandchildren have declared that, “no one will ever make a better bowl of oatmeal.” She was a dedicated member of the Nettleton Church of Christ in Jonesboro, Arkansas where she served in ministry as an elder’s wife with her husband Lloyd for over 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lloyd Joseph Reddick, her parents Luther and Blanche Rogers of Marmaduke, Arkansas along with brother, Frank Rogers, and sisters Nora Westbrook, Imogene Winn, Juanita Baker, and Esther Rogers.
Geraldine is survived by her son, Eddie Joe Reddick (Trish) of Nashville, Tennessee, her daughter Debbie Kemper (Greg) of Mt. Vernon, Arkansas, her 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Clark (Blane) of Franklin, Tennessee, Neely Ciarcia (Michael) of South Salem, New York, Lance Kemper (Heather) of Searcy, Arkansas, Daniel Kemper (Haley) of Searcy, Arkansas, Jill Jones (Kasey) of Columbia Falls, Montana, and Amy Cowart (Justin) of Searcy, Arkansas and her 14 great-grandchildren, Jeff, Amelie, Briley, Caragh, Chase, Wyatt, Braden, Tate, Mikey, Adelae, Stiles, Emmalyn, Ella and Laelyn.
Also she is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as other close family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday June 4, 2016 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlands Heights Cemetery in Rector with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Saturday at Emerson Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Lance Kemper, Daniel Kemper, Ricky Cash, Jimmy Young, Justin Cowart and Greg Kemper.
Honorary pallbearers will be George and Pauline Penter, Dennis Gregory, Bill Lester and Charlie Onstead.
