Helen Lavern Terrell, 86, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Ridgecrest Nursing Center in Jonesboro where she resided.
Helen was born in the Olyphant community in Jackson County and moved several times before settling in Mountain Home where she lived many years. She worked most of her adult life as a Licensed Practical Nurse caring mostly for patients with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. Helen moved to Jonesboro about three years ago and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Helen was a Life Member of the Jonesboro Chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She held duel membership in the Midway Chapter and Jonesboro Chapter of Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents: John H. and Mrs. Willie Odell Epperson; daughter Susan Terrell Graham; 2 brothers J.W. Epperson and Ennis Epperson; and a sister Louise Epperson.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughter-in-law: Johnny and Terry Terrell, and Jimmy Terrell all of Jonesboro;
10 grandchildren and their spouses: Stefanie Graham Taylor, Daniel and Larae Graham, Christy and Scott Lemmons, Jeremy Terrell, Jenny and Ty Keller and Evelyn and John Miller, all of Jonesboro, and Christopher and Cara Terrell of Kansas City, Kansas, and Johnny and Melissa Terrell and David and Kylie Terrell, all of Melbourne, and Johnathan Terrell and Lannie Meacum of Colorado; and
21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1-2 Sunday preceding the service. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
