Heather Jill Dacus

July 10, 1981 — June 5, 2017

Jill Dacus, 35, of Harrison, formerly of Jonesboro and Brookland, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, during emergency surgery.

Jill was born in Jonesboro and lived in the Jonesboro-Brookland area before moving to Booneville where she lived until moving to Harrison two years ago. Jill was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Searcy and worked at various tasks. She participated in the local and state Special Olympics for over 20 years. Jill loved politics and politicians. She was persistent and insistent in her right to vote and once she turned 18 and voted for the first time, she never missed an election. Jill also enjoyed drawing and listening to 1980s music. She was preceded in death by an aunt, Stacey Crain.

Survivors include her parents: Max, Jr. and Jennifer Dacus of Jonesboro and Annette and John Carter of Brookland;

2 brothers: Heath Carter of Brookland and Max Timothy Dacus of Jonesboro;

2 sisters: Megan Dacus and Ella Dacus, both of Jonesboro;

Her grandparents: Ralph "Sonny" and Nancy Crain of Brookland, and Max, Sr., and Patsy Dacus, Amy Carter and Odell "Shorty" and Dianne Fort, all of Jonesboro; and

numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Michael Blackwood officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00 until service time. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
