Hazel Walker

February 27, 1929 — November 29, 2016

Hazel Laverne Armstrong Walker, 87, of Bay passed from this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. She was born in Florette, Alabama to R.E. and Mary Armstrong. Hazel was the former owner of Walker Gospel Record Shop and was of the Baptist belief. She is preceded in death by by her husband of 58 years, V.T. (Talmage) Walker; six grandkids; brothers, Les Armstrong and Raymond Armstrong; sister, Margrette Carter.

Hazel is survived by her sons, Kenneth Walker (Sharrion) of Pocahontas, Johnny Walker (Betty) of Jonesboro, and Ernie Walker (Carol) of Jonesboro; daughters, Glenda Rusher (Bobby), Diana Wilkerson (Larry), and Debbie Walker all of Jonesboro, Teresa Russell (Dale) from Hardy, and Pat Murphy from Walnut Ridge; brothers, Wayne Armstrong of Jonesboro, Charles “Butch” Armstrong of Jonesboro, and Dale Armstrong from Black Rock; sister, Mary Minton from Imboden. Hazel also leaves behind 11 grandkids, 25 great grandkids, and 9 great great grandkids.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with the active pallbearers being John Eidson Jr., Joe Russom, Kevin Walker, Jeremy Walker, Jeff Murphy, and Tommy Hughes.
The visitation will be held prior to the service from 12-2 pm on Friday.
