Hazel Trucks Lawson

February 23, 1919 — May 7, 2013

Hazel Trucks Lawson, 94, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Born February 23, 1919, in Nettleton, Hazel lived 32 years in Royal Oak, Michigan, before returning to Jonesboro in 1972. She worked several years for Chrysler Corporation and was a homemaker.

Hazel was a member of First Assembly of God on Stone Street in Jonesboro where she was past leader of the Missionettes program and active in the nursing home ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lawson, by her parents, Abner B. and Mattie Louella Jackson Trucks, 4 brothers and 8 sisters.

Survivors include one sister, Ann Clark of Walnut, Mississippi, a niece, Inis Liles of Jonesboro, 4 nephews and many additional loving nieces.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 9:30 until service time in the Chapel.

Active pallbearers will be men of First Assembly of God. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Whitney Williams, Dr. Eumar Tagupa, Dr. Thomas Mulligan, Dr. Mike Ungerank, Dr. Ben Owens, Jr., and Mark Osborn.
