Hazel Marie Orr, 89, formerly of Bono, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022.
She was born May 19, 1933 to the late George and Mary Fawcett. Hazel graduated from Bolivar
High School in Tennessee in 1952.
She was an active member of Unity Baptist Church in Bono since 1974. She worked at Frolic
footwear for over 22 years. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother that
always placed her family’s needs above her own. Hazel’s greatest joy came from serving her
family, including a large extended family. Everyone always knew that they could come to her
house with or without notice, get a warm welcome, something to eat, and a place to stay for as
long as they chose. She was a kind person, never had an unkind work to say about anyone. She
loved the small farm she shared with her husband for the last 50 plus years of their life, the
gardening, canning vegetables, and even helping her husband with the livestock when needed.
Hazel loved to quilt, crochet, and to do glasswork. She was always a happy and content person
before her Alzheimer’s took her memories.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by; two brothers, Hollis and Robert (Martha)
Fawcett; one sister, Gladys Fawcett; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Orr (Allen); and one grandson,
David Davis.
Hazel is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Allen Orr; three sons, James Allen Orr Jr,
Clint Orr (Hallie) and David Orr; one brother, John Fawcett (Mary Ruth) of Roschelle, Illinois;
one sister, Irene Orr (Frank) of Trumann; six grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Orr (Stephanie),
Andrew George Orr (Cathy), Christopher James Orr, Jacob Hendrix (Tatiana), Ethan Hendrix
(Kaitlin) and Crystal Sutton (Kenny); nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and
