Hazel F. Carter, our beloved mother went to be with our Lord on Friday Aug 24, 2007. She was born Hazel Fay Walker, April 26, 1918 in Rector, AR. She married Luther Overton “Hot” Carter on Feb 7, 1944, and settled in Lake City, AR. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake City and a member of the Eastern Star.
She lived her last 5 years with her daughters in both San Diego, CA and Corpus Christi, TX. Mother spent most of her life loving and caring for others and she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Calvin Walker and Bertha Mae Yates, her husband, Luther Overton “Hot” Carter, a brother and two sisters.
She leaves behind two daughters, Maria Davis of Corpus Christi, TX, and Sandra Apostolos of San Antonio, TX; three granddaughters, Shawna Davis, Lauren Hyle and Taylor Apostolos along with numerous nieces and nephews who she constantly impacted with love.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 P.M. Friday August 31, 2007 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Reverend Larry Owens officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Honored to serve as active pallbearers are: Blake Carter, Rick Carter, Morris “Coonie” Harmon, Danny Qualls, Mike Owens and Bill Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers are: Max Carter, Jim Ladd, Plute Ladd and Russ Arnold.
In lieu of flowers Mom requested that any donations be made for the care of the Cane Island Cemetery in care of the Pulaski Bank, Lake City, AR 72437.
