Hazel Belle Jenkins Land

Hazel Belle Jenkins Land, 93, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Craighead County Nursing Center.

Born in Minturn, Mrs. Land lived in Black Oak before moving to Jonesboro in the early 1940s. Hazel worked several years for St. Bernard’s Medical Center and was a member of First Assembly of God in Jonesboro. Hazel enjoyed crocheting , cooking and spoiling her grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by her first husband, Weldon Griffin Jenkins, by her second husband, Melvin Land, by a son, William Jerry Jenkins; by 3 brothers, Everett Golden, Audie Golden and Leon Golden, and by 2 sisters, Gertrude Johnson and Kathleen Dickerson.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Dot and Jim Wilmoth of Jonesboro;

A daughter-in-law: Marie Bracken Jenkins of Jonesboro;

1 brother, Taylor Golden of Dallas;

4 grandchildren and spouse: Beverlee Wilmoth, Chris Wilmoth, Tony Jenkins and Steve and Joyce Jenkins, all of Jonesboro;

5 great grandchildren and spouses: India and Randy Garner of Paragould, Christopher and Amanda Jenkins of Jonesboro, Dylan Wilmoth of Bay, Keech Wilmoth of Caraway, and Devin Jenkins of Marmaduke; and

2 great, great grandchildren: Abigail Jenkins and Ryder Griffin Dean Garner.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park. Pallbearers include: Dylan Wilmoth, Chris Wilmoth, Randy Garner, Steve Jenkins, Tony Jenkins and Devin Jenkins.

Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 in Emerson Chapel.
