Harry Junior Ward, 64, of Jonesboro, died Monday morning at the V.A. Medical Center in Memphis. Born in Harrison, Arkansas, he had lived most of his life in Jonesboro. He loved to hunt and fish and loved spending time with his family. He proudly served his country in Vietnam in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ward, Jonesboro; his mother, Jorene Harrell; sons, Charles Ward, Jonesboro, Bobby Ward, Greenfield, Jimmy Ward, Tuckerman; daughters, Cynthia Erway, Bono, Sharon Stanfill, Jonesboro; brothers, Billy Charles Ward, Jonesboro, Wayne Harrell, Missouri, Joe Harrell, Michigan, Larry Ward, Washington; sisters, Sheila Gossman, Hot Springs, Ann Dozer, Michigan, Loretta King, Jonesboro; 15 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Charlotte Ward; brothers, G.W. Ward, James Ward; sisters, Omie Hicks, Betty Cooper, Brenda Ward; and a granddaughter, Rhonda Ward.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Gibson Cemetery with Rev. Larry Merrill officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Ron Johnson, Cody Cambron, James Cambron, Kenneth Carruth, Timothy Freeman, James Stanfill, and Robert Erway, Jr.
Visitation will be 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
