Harold Richard Head (Rick/Ricky), age 47, of Jonesboro, Arkansas died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Rick was born February 16, 1969 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Harold Laverne Head and Rita Katherine (Sorg) Head.
Rick grew up in Jonesboro and attended Jonesboro High School. He moved to the Dallas area and attended South Garland High School. He enjoyed motorcycles, roller blading, darts, remote control airplanes, 80s music, playing cards with friends and family. Due to an unfortunate accident in 1994, Rick spent the remainder of his days paralyzed, but he didn’t let that stop him. A series of complications over the past 10 years resulted in declining health.
He is survived by his parents, sister, Kelley Annette (Head) Williamson (David) of Jonesboro, AR, brother Charles Joseph Head (Brianne) of Carrollton, Texas, nephew Nicholas Brake Blackshear, niece Emily Annette Williamson, and nephew Alec Tyler Williamson.
A private memorial will be arranged at a later date. Rick’s wishes were for friends and family to live out the joy he can no longer have and to remember him with stories of fun times and through music such as the Green Day song “The Time of your life” and KISS song “Rock and Roll all night”. Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
To honor Rick’s memory, donations can be made Angel Flight, Inc. 12345 East Skelly Drive, Tulsa, OK 74128 or www.angelflight.com.
