G.W. Endicott

Rev. G. W. Endicott, 95, of Jonesboro, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday Evening, December 12, 2017 at Morningside Retirement Home

Born, March 24, 1922 at Leota, Missouri, the son of Rev, Elmer C. and Mrs. Nora (Killion) Endicott. He received his education in the public schools of Missouri and attended the Jacksonville Baptist College at Jacksonville, TX. In 1953, Rev G, W. was awarded a B.S E from Arkansas State College and 1957, he was awarded a Master of Science degree also from Arkansas State College

Rev. Endicott accepted the divine call to preach the gospel in 1936 and preached his first sermon that year. On July 23, 1936, G. W. was ordained into the ministry by Shady Grove Baptist Church near Bakersfield, MO and began a long, faithful and devoted career in God"s service as Pastor of churches in Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas.

In addition to serving as full time pastor, G. W. taught school and served as High School Principal at Dixie High School for several years, taught Religion at Columbia Bible School in Magnolia, Served on the Board of Trustees of Central Baptist College at Conway, Arkansas. Served as Moderator of the Jonesboro Missionary Baptist Association, Moderator of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Association and the Columbia Missionary Association.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years; G. W.  was united in marriage on June 20, 1943 with Lois Irene Overall of Dixie, Arkansas. "Miss Lois," as she is affectionate know, has proven to be the perfect Pastor Wife. Rev. G. W. and Mrs Lois would have celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary this June.

Graveside services will be December 14, 3:00 P.M. at Nettleton Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Jolly presiding.

Pallbearers: Jimmy Ward, Bill Vick, Jimmy Thompson, Larry Merrill, Gary Gipson, Larry Bowling and Bill Edds.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Wednesday Morning Bible Study Group and Sunday Class of Rev. G.W. at Fairview Mission Baptist Church, Jonesboro.
