Grover "Jim" Cleveland Shultz

Grover “Jim” Cleveland Shultz Jr, 76, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Jim was born December 27, 1944 to the late Dorothy and Grover Shultz Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Shultz, and sister, Caroline Rogers.

Jim and his wife moved to Jonesboro from Fort Smith, where they were members of Community Bible Church. Jim loved helping out at his church, greeting parishioners as they entered. He was also a member of the Rotary Club. Jim loved being outside. You could always find him golfing, fishing, or tending to his garden. When he wasn’t outside in his garden, Jim was a big fan of old westerns, especially those with John Wayne. Most importantly, Jim loved spending time with his family and his two dogs, Allie and Kobe.

Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon Shultz; sons Greg Shultz of Purcell, OK, Roger Shultz (Nikki) of Paul’s Valley, OK, Donnie Shultz (Miriam) of Del City, OK, Scott Chaires of Fort Smith, and Christopher Chaires (Christy) of McRae, AR; daughter Charlotte Oliver (Wesley) of Moore, OK; brother Tim Shultz (Reba) of Elyria, OH; sister Judy Phelps (Phil) of Ohio; grandchildren Roger “Bubba” Shultz (Jennifer), Ashley D’amico, Zachary D’amico (Tristen), Morgan Fierro (Sam), Samantha Shultz, Chase Oliver, Kaleb Chaires (Alyssa), Josh Shultz, Gavin Chaires, Cody Harvey (DeAnna), and Phoenix Shultz; and great-grandchildren Paxton, Ivy, Camille, and Grayson.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 2pm to 4pm at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
